He simply smiled a touch.



And she couldn't help but smile a bit as well.

@tanya@ "Well, good. I can't wait to see you back in action." Tanya said, as she walked up to Mai. "By the way, take this." she held out a certain black card.

"...wait a minute. That card!" He looked surprised when he saw it.

Mai blinked, as she took the black card. "...this is..." She looked back at Tanya in surprise. "...but... why give it to me?"

"...hm..." Rafael remained silent as he looked down at her.

@tanya@ She smiled. "Consider it a gift. This may be a bit forward, but I enjoyed competing against a fellow sister in the Amazoness cards."

He blinked. "But that card..."

"...hm..." He looked at it as well.



Blinking, she looked at Valon. "...you've... seen a Number before?"

"Seen it...and experienced it." He pulled up his jacket sleeve, showing bandages around his arms. "The first time I saw that damn thing it set me on fire!"

@tanya@ "Dear me...seems a lot more people are getting their hands on those numbers."

"...and not the right kind of people..." Mai murmured.

He rubbed his chin a bit. "...you don't think... this tournament, and these Numbers popping up... perhaps they're related?"

[kelik]

He looked over at Valon. "Oh geez, you think...wait." He looked at Tanya. "The last bloke who had a number had a few screws loose, how come you're fine?"

@tanya@ She smiled. "It's not right for a sister to use a sister. The number had no influence on me."

"...eh?"

@famazoness@ "Just say you have a strong will, that blockhead might understand that..."

He sneezed. "...did someone say somethin'?"

@tanya@ "Not at all..." She said, knowing he couldn't see her.

"...hm." He simply closed his eyes.



"...well... we won't find anything out about these Numbers or the tournament if we do nothing." Mai noted with a small nod.

@tanya@ "Right...well, best of luck to you all." She smiled. "I hope to see you again. Take care of her, alright, Mai?" She walked past Valon. "And this boy too." She patted his back.

A bit too hard. "Guh...ain't she a treat." He looked over his shoulder, frowning.

@famazoness@ The red head watched her leave with a sigh.

Mai simply chuckled as she left.

"...excuse me." Before she could leave, Rafael stood in her way. "...may I ask where you're planning on going?"

@tanya@ "Hm?" She looked over. "I'm actually not sure yet. I was curious about a few things myself..."

"Anyway, Mai...be careful about those cards. It screwed up that nerdy kid's mind..."

"...I've had a couple of supernatural things screw with my mind, Valon." Mai hummed, as she gave him a slightly encouraging nod. "I think I can handle this."

Rafael simply gave Tanya a nod. "...it would be wise to have a way to keep in touch, in case either of us discover something that the other might benefit from learning about." he spoke.

He smiled. "Heh. Good. I doubt a silly lil card'll effect you, Mai."

@tanya@ "That would be wise...." She grinned and whistled a bit....

As her tiger walked past Valon and Mai.

"EH!?" He jumped at that.

@tanya@ "You can see duel spirits. Some of my cards happen to be the same. She held a card up.



@tanya@ "Bass is my tiger. He'll come find you if I find something interesting. And these scouts will do the talking for him...will that work for you, handsome?"

"...wot, ya don't own a phone?"

@tanya@ "Do you?"

"...." He shut up.

"...huh." she uttered with a tilted head.

Rafael simply nodded, before he glanced to the side...

...and she appeared to nod at Tanya and Bass...

...alongside a younger girl, who simply smiled.

"...these two carry the agility of wind with them. If we find anything of note, they'll seek you out and inform you. I trust that this works in your favor."

@tanya@ She smiled. "That works just fine with me, handsome..." She nodded. "Oh, and don't worry about my card messing with you, Mai. She's a friendly girl." She walked off with Bass. "Till next time."

The tiger nodded and followed.

"...well, that was that." He looked over. "Anywho, we got a full team. Least we're ahead of the game."

"...hm." Rafael nodded slowly.



"...I suppose we need to work on our synergy, then." Mai hummed. "If we can't cooperate against the other teams, we'll be at a disadvantage."

"Good point there." He said. "Well, I don't have my Armor cards no more. An...accident happened. I'm usin' X-Sabers now..." He thought. 'And it's a new deck too, got a lot to get used to...'

"Right..." Nodding, Mai glanced at Rafael. "And you?"

"...hm..." He glanced to the side. "...I don't use my Guardians anymore. I keep them with me, but... they're old and weary. They deserve rest... I now use Gladiator Beasts."



"...both new archetypes... I suppose they fit you both, somewhat."

"And I saw you still haven't changed yer deck. But that's fine." He said. "It always did suit ya."

"...hm." Mai simply shrugged, as she glanced at her deck. "I suppose it does..."

"...well, then... I suppose the next step is for me and Valon to grow more familiar with our new decks."

"Yeah, guess so." He nodded. "So 'ow about we look for some challengers then, Raf?"

"...very well." Rafael nodded.

"Alright, let's go take a look around." He looked at Mai. "Should we split up and meet somewhere later?"

"...no, we'll stick around." Mai noted. "It'll help us understand the strategies of our teammates."

"...sound advice." Rafael noted.

"Oh, roight. Good call. Let's get lookin' then." He walked along.
