@tanya@ "Next, I summon Amazoness Archer."



The archer appeared.

@tanya@ "Then I'll equip her with this."



The archer's attack points jumped up.

Atk: 1400 + 1000 = 2400

@tanya@ "Don't forget Paladin's bonus. She gains 300 attack points with all the Amazoness monsters out.

Paladin's Atk: 1700 + 300 = 2000[rand=60111661860719326584984795190394171580495778471237213937379419804]

Mai's eyes narrowed.

@tanya@ "Let's get the painful part out of the way, Paladin attacks Swords Woman."

The Paladin ran in and swung out at the woman.

@tanya@ "Then I take 500 damage as difference because of her effect..."

"...I don't think so." With that, Mai suddenly revealed her face-down. "My trap activates! Amazoness Archers!"



Suddenly, a horde of archers appeared to pelt Tanya's monsters with arrows.



"Now all your monsters lose 500 ATK, and they have to attack me. But more importantly, your Paladin goes to the grave!" Meaning that she can't activate the ability of Archer this turn.

And Swords Woman swiftly swung her own sword against the paladin to take her foe out along with her.

The Paladin went down swiftly.

@tanya@ "What a clever move, I must say..." She said, as her monsters lost their attack power.

Fiery Amazoness Atk: 1500

Amazoness Archer Atk: 1900

@tanya@ "Fine. Then I'll have Fiery Amazoness attack your Harpies."

She ran out.

@tanya@ "By removing her last overlay unit, she gains 1000 attack."

Fiery: 1500 + 1000 = 2500

The harpies shrieked as the Fiery Amazoness plowed through them...



...while Mai merely crossed her arms.

LP: 2850

@tanya@ "Next, my Archer attacks your last Harpie!"

She fired an arrow at her.

And the Cyber Harpie exploded...



...while she grit her teeth.

@tanya@ "You may think you avoided my archer's effect...but you're wrong." She grinned. "I tribute my Archer...and my Fiery Amazoness, to deal damage to you!"

The Fiery Amazoness vanished...

As the other one loaded the arrow, and fired before she parted the field too.

Her eyes widened... "GAH!" And the arrow struck her directly in the chest; sending her skidding back.

She hissed just a touch, before she drew a card.

...well... She looked back at Tanya. ...this could work. "I discard Harpie Queen from my hand, to pick out one Harpie's Hunting Ground from my deck." she spoke, as she did as she had said. "And next... I play that card!"



Swiftly, the ground became barren, and what appeared to be vultures circled the sun above them.



"Then... I summon Harpie Lady 3 to the field!"





"And with Harpie's Hunting Ground... I'm allowed to destroy one of your Spell or Trap cards when a Harpie is summoned to the field. And I'll pick one of your face-down cards!" With that, she pointed at one of Tanya's cards.[rand=3128586893323358518175393053697902097946065370853733969607599199025]

The card lifted up, showing it to be a normal spell card.

@tanya@ "It's a very good thing I set that up as decoy, so I can safely play this."



@tanya@ "Xyz Reborn lets me target an Xyz Monster in the grave and special summon it."

The Fiery Amazoness returned.

@tanya@ "On top of that, it also acts as a substitute for an overlay unit."

Mai couldn't help but chuckle. "...you know, I'm almost glad you did that." And she held up her last card. "I activate a Spell Card! Harpie Lady Phoenix Formation!"





"Since I control a Harpie Lady, I may activate this... and with exactly one Harpie Lady on my field, I may destroy one of your monsters, making you suffer damage equal to the ATK of that monster. And I choose... Fiery Amazoness!"

With a wicked smirk, the Harpie shot up into the air, before an aura of flames surrounded her. Shrieking, she then rocketed down towards Tanya's monster.

The amazoness gasped out when she was attacked, and fell over. While it wasn't entirely clear if Numbers could be destroyed by card effects...

@tanya@ "!" She still took damage equal to the attack.

LP: 1500 > 0

@tanya@ "...well done." She smiled. "I was careless...but a loss is a loss."

She couldn't help but chuckle herself, as she nodded. "...it was close, though, let me tell you." she mused with a nod. "You're not too bad."

@tanya@ She nodded and came up. "It was a lot of fun, I have to say..."

"Mai? Is that you?" Said a male voice...

As a brown haired fellow entered the alley, surprised.

Her eyes widened, as she looked behind her to see him. "...Valon...?"



"...you found her?"

And he followed his comrade into the alley; looking upon Mai and the other woman.

He nodded and came up. "...uh, heya. How's it...goin'?" He seemed a bit awkward.

@tanya@ She noticed this, and smiled. "Hm, is this a boyfriend of yours?"

"!" He coughed and blushed when she said that. "O.oy...who is this lady anyway...?"

"Nh...!" With a rather annoyed, and somewhat awkward look, she glanced to the side. "...this is... Tanya. She's an Amazoness duelist."

"...I see..." Rafael hummed, as he gave Tanya a small nod. "...I am Rafael, and this is Valon; a comrade of mine."



"...mh..." She glanced to the side again. "...how... have you been...?"

@tanya@ "Nice to meet you boys." She smiled at Rafael...behind her was a red headed fighter, pouting in the corner...but only Raf could see her.

"Oh, ya know...pretty well..." The amazoness seemed to make this a lot harder on the poor boy. "We uh...we've been lookin' for ya, Mai."

He simply regarded a small nod to her, though he did notice the red-head... ...a Duel Spirit...?



"...you... have...?" With a small frown, she turned away from Valon. "...why is that...?" Even if it had been a while, and even if she knew the circumstances behind the conflict between the three earlier... there was still a part of her that didn't want to leave herself vulnerable against either of those two.

He watched her turn, and blinked. "Ah, well. Did ya hear about that team tournament Pegasus is holdin'?"

The red head turned to Rafael...

@famazoness@ "?" She seemed a bit surprised.

@tanya@ "Hm? Don't tell me you can see her too..." She looked at Raf.

"...I... heard mention of it." Mai hummed. "...though... I'm not sure if I'm ready for something like that..."

Rafael glanced at Tanya, and simply nodded once...

...and at this point, a female being appeared by Rafael's side, while she merely glanced at the redhead.

"You serious?" He said. "I didn't see the whole duel, but I saw that last move...Mai, you got plenty of talent."

@famazoness@ She saw Eatos, surprised. "Whooa..."

@tanya@ She chuckled a bit. "I see you have a strong spirit. Guardian Eatos..."

She narrowed her eyes. "...still... I..."

He simply closed his eyes. "...she's been with me from childhood... she may be worn, but she is a good friend."

@eatos@

She simply nodded softly.

@tanya@ "Your bond is very strong. That's good..." She nodded, then looked over at the two.

"Mai, I really wanna duel along side you again...without the wacky seal this time around." He nodded. "I've been lookin' fer a reason to duel again, maybe we can find it in this tournament. Please, Mai."

He simply looked over at the two of them.



She looked back at Valon, though not a word escaped her lips. Almost as if she contemplated his offer...

Seeing her think tortured him a bit. "Mai...?"

@tanya@ "Why don't you take his offer?" She said. "Talent like yours can't stay in the shadows forever. I think it's about time you got back out there." She smiled.

Hearing her say that, she closed her eyes.

He observed her calmly.



Finally, she looked back at Valon. "...I'll... give it a shot..."
