He grunted. "...." Something was off alright, and Jack didn't like this one bit.

@trudge2@ "G-Game?" he squeaked.

"Yes." With a smirk, he suddenly dropped off the tower...

...and, as if by magic, he landed neatly on the surface of the tower; arms folded as he gave Trudge a vicious grin. "A Shadow Game."

The instant he said that, the same darkness that had swallowed Jack and Crow seeped into the area; blackening the already dark surroundings.



"...wha... what's going on now?!" Crow uttered.

"Tch..." He looked annoyed at the thickening dark mist.

Smirking, the dark mist suddenly enveloped him and Trudge...

...and when it faded, the two were suddenly standing on an extremely thin platform connected to the tower. "Now, Ushio... let us begin."



Crow could only gawk at this.



"It's a simple game; one round of Duel Monsters. However, the fewer Life Points you have, the less ground you'll have to stand on... and whoever loses will plummet into the abyss. This is your chance, Ushio... your one chance to repent."

@trudge2@ "What the hell is a Duel Monster?!? It's season 0. Duel Monsters hardly were invented yet." he screamed, wiggling his legs.

"...." He frowned. "Is he seriously challenging him to a duel over his life?"

"...you'll learn." With a hollow chuckle, he tossed Trudge what appeared to be a deck of cards. The Original Starter Box. "Trust what the cards read... you only get this one chance, Ushio. Make good use of it."

The moment he said that, a deck of cards magically appeared by his side; the game was afoot.



"...I don't like this..." Crow uttered; eyes narrowed in worry.

@trudge2@ "Agh!" Fear tingled him, making his hands like butterfingers. Panting nervously, he ripped the box apart... "Ah no!!; Barely catching the wrapped cards, but the book fell to the river. "...that...was the rule book."

"...." He facepalmed. "It's obvious Trudge doesn't have a single prayer..."

"...this has gotta be a farce..." Crow uttered. "...we gotta help him out... but how?"



Chuckling menacingly, he folded his arms. "No pressure, Ushio; take your time... it may be the only time you have left."

@trudge2@ "Uhh..." Holding the unwrapped cards, "How we gonna play these....like this?" After all, they were hanging off a building.

"...tch, this is ridiculous." He shouted. "Oi! Yugi, or whoever the hell you are!"

"Jack...!" Crow grit his teeth a touch.



"...hm...?" With a chuckle, he turned his gaze towards Jack, before looking at Ushio. "...dragging others into the Shadow Game? Tsk, tsk... there's no limit to your cruelty, is there?"

@trudge2@ "I don't even know them!!" he screamed, fearing these two will get him in more trouble.

"Pay attention to me! It's quite obvious that fool has no idea what he's doing!" He growled. "Why don't you let me duel in his place!"

A small smirk crossed his lips. "...curious. Then how about this... I will duel you, but the ante will be Ushio's soul."



"You've gotta be kidding...!"



"Until you can defeat me, his soul will be trapped, under my control... if you win, Ushio goes free..." A wicked smirk crossed his lips. "...but if you lose... the Shadow Game will claim you as well. Do you accept these terms?"



Crow looked towards Jack with a worried look; wondering if he would accept this.

"Hmph! The king never backs down from a challenge!" He answered, before poor Ushio could. "Jack Atlas accepts your terms!"

@trudge2@ Whimpering, he did, but was so glad someone else was gonna take on the psycho.

"...very well... Jack Atlas." With a smirk, he turned to look at Trudge. "...your lucky day, Ushio... though remember; you are the ante."

In that instant, Jack's rope would suddenly tug him all the way over to where Yugi was hanging, whilst Trudge's rope pulled him over to where Crow was... except he didn't stop at where Jack had been hanging; he was descending towards the river.



"Damn!" Acting out of instinct, Crow shot his legs for Trudge's rope to wrap them around it and keep Trudge from falling much further.



Smirking, he turned to look at Jack.

He turned back and took out his own deck and put it down. "I hope you're ready for a world of pain, because when you duel me, that's exactly what you should expect!"

@trudge2@ He has no idea how this stupid game works, but he hopes the Aussie guy is good as he says...or he's dead meat.

Chuckling, he merely shuffled his deck, before it magically floated in place; settling neatly on the vertical surface of the tower, as if it was a table or something. "...perhaps you would like to begin then, Jack Atlas?"



Narrowing his eyes, Crow just kept focused on hanging onto the rope holding Trudge, whilst observing this duel. ...c'mon, Jack, you can beat him...!

"If you insist!" His duel disk activated and he drew his hand.

"I summon Archfiend Interceptor in attack mode!"



A demonic football player appeared on the roof, grinning like a maniac.

"Then I'll place a card face down. Turn end."

Smirking, the cards actually drew themselves for him; magically lining up before him.

"Hmm..." After some thought, he set a monster in face-down position, before holding up a Spell Card. "Graceful Charity. I may draw three cards."

On cue, the cards floated into his hand from the deck.

"And I must discard two cards in turn." With that, he sent two cards from the hand to the Graveyard. "Your turn, Jack Atlas." All the while, he was still smiling.

He looked surprised at the cards floating...but tricks like this happen often. "Playing defensive? Tch, I'm disappointed..." He drew.

"Let me show you why that was a bad idea! I use Polymerization to fuse the Big Piece Golem and Medium Piece Golem in my hand!"







These two rock monsters formed together in a vortex.

"So that I may summon, Multiple Piece Golem!"

"Hm." He simply chuckled; as if not impressed by this display.

He noticed that, and the smirk was really ticking Jack off. "Oh, this show ain't good enough for ya!? Well fine! Multiple Piece Golem! Stomp out that pathetic defense of his!"

The giant golem stomped out and thrust it's fist down.

And the card was destroyed... but at a price.



"Congratulations. You've destroyed my first monster..." Then, he suddenly pointed at the Archfiend Interceptor. "...which allows me to destroy yours."

In that instant, from the wrecked card, a massive mouth shot out to outright devour Archfiend Interceptor, as Jack would see what card he had attacked...
