For a girl her age, Rebecca is abnormally smart; being crowned the American champion of Duel Monsters not too long after Keith Howard lost that title, being skilled enough with computers to hack into even KaibaCorp's computer system, and has even graduated into college, at the mere age of 12. Being this young, though, she's quick to crush on tougher, older duelists, though her heart is currently meant for one person only.

Directly after the Battle City tournament, when Solomon Moto had been released from the hospital, Rebecca showed up at his gameshop and demanded that he returned his Blue-Eyes White Dragon, which she was under the impression that he stole from her grandfather. As he was still recovering, she dueled Yugi in his stead, and with her grandfather's Shadow Ghoul deck, forced Yugi to surrender. However, her own grandfather showed up to clear the misunderstanding, and pointed out that Yugi surrendered on purpose, as he had drawn the perfect card to absolutely cripple her strategy. She returned in time to aid Yugi and his friends against Dartz, and after that conflict was resolved, stayed a while to compete in the KC Tournament. Here, it became quite clear that she had fallen in love with Yugi, and when she had to leave for America yet again, told him that she would duel him again some day.
