Axel is a dueling mercenary, often hired by people to perform missions for them, or to defeat a duelist they dislike. As long as he is paid, and it doesn't go against his morals, Axel would do any sort of mission.
With a good deal of elite duelists residing in Japan, Axel has taken a trip over there, to see if there's any work he can get paid for over there...

His Duel Disk doubles as a gun. That fires spare cards. That burn and explode. Wrap your head around that one.
