Domino St. High: First Day of Dueling

"...yeah." Syrus nodded. "Though, I'm not too good at it; I'm just a rookie..."

[kelik]

"Heh, I doubt that. Can I see your deck? Maybe we can have a duel later."

[YolkaEd]

"...sure." Syrus nodded, as he took out a deck and handed it to Jaden. At the front, Jaden would see this card...

"Whoahoa! Nice." He quickly skimmed through it. "Wow, these cards are pretty good. With the right moves, you could take on the big leagues." He held it back. "My name's Jaden, Jaden Yuki."

Taking the deck, he managed a small smile. "...Syrus. Syrus Truesdale." he replied.

[kelik]

"Nice to meet you, Sy. Anyway, let's get going before that Crowler guy comes back." He walked into the school hallway, his hands behind his head.

"...um... sure, Jaden." Syrus blinked, before he followed Jaden.

Now in homeroom, Alexis groaned, trying to clear her head. She shouldn't been too surprised about that boy, she thought. A goofy kid like him was bound to have a deck with him. But no worries. This is private school, and no way they'll allow those things. All she needed to do was avoid him, and her academic future will be safe.

"Looks like this is my homeroom." Called out a voice Alexis would know...

As Jaden walked in, looking around. "Nice, I gotta say..." Not that Jaden cared much for academics.

And lo and behold, it was his homeroom as well. Carefully, he peeked around, trying to spot a vacant seat.

BAM!

And that would be the sound of Alexis' head slammed on her desk like a rock. God! Why do you hate me?

"Hm? Are they doing work outside?" He heard the slam, not noticing Alexis' head. He saw a seat right infront of her. "Ooh, right there. There's a seat next to that open, Syrus." He walked over.

"...right..." Quickly nodding, Syrus walked over to that open seat.

He's so doing this on purpose. She gritted, tempted to bash the boy on his Kuriboh-

"Heya, Alexis!" a brown-haired girl greeted, bumping by Jaden and quickly taking the seat in front of Alexis that Jaden aimed for.

Giggling, a black-haired girl hurried over to a seat next to Alexis.

"Uhh...hey girls." she uneasily greeted. As much as she was annoyed with Jaden, she didn't think her friend had to knock him away.

"Ah, hello to you too..." He blinked. "Ahh, it's cool." He took a seat a bit further from them, sad thing was he was closer to the front. Which means he'll be more likely caught sleeping in class...

Sighing, Syrus took a seat closer to Jaden. Better that than to be teased by girls...

[AnT]

"Guten Morgen!" a German accented man spoke...

@banner@ Which happened to be a pleasant man with squinty eyes, walking in the room to take a seat behind a large desk before all the students.

Quickly, the girls took to their seats, trying to look behaved for their new homeroom teacher.

@banner@ Dropping his brown coat on his seat, "'Vy name is Professor Lyman Banner. Obviously, I am your homeroom teacher, but I am the school's alchemist teacher." Sitting down, he checked his list. "And I believe most of you 'vill be staying here for first period, for my class."

Suddenly, Jaden started feeling drowsy. 'Mmm...maybe he won't notice after...' Before he finished that thought, he leaned forward in his desk, taking a trip to dreamland.

Noticing that, Syrus winced. ...Jaden, you can't be asleep! You'll get in trouble! he thought, trying to act as calmly as possible.

And Jaden would feel something furry against his legs.

"...?" He slowly woke up, looking over his desk. 'What the...?'

Blinking, Syrus glanced down under Jaden's desk as well.

[AnT]

@banner@ "Ah," looking up at his papers, "Mr. Yuki is it? I believe you found Pharaoh."

@pharaoh@ Indeed, for what was rubbing his legs was brown ROUND cat with a sleepy face.

@banner@ "Do me a favor and grab Pharaoh, 'vould you?"

He looked surprised. 'Huh? A cat? Don't they have rules against bringing pets..?' But he was a teacher, who was he to argue. "Ah, sure thing." He picked him up, and went over to the table. "There ya go, teach."

@pharaoh@ As he would give him to the professor, the cat tried reaching and sniffing Jaden.

@banner@ "Hm?" noticing this, the teacher wondered why. It was like his cat had some interest in the boy. Anything about this boy, Pharaoh? Hm...

And the bell ranged.

@banner@ "That was quite short. Off you go to first period."

"Alright, Mr. Banner. Catch ya later." He waved, then walked out with his bag. Heading for Crowler's class...this is gonna be fun.

"Outta my way, loser!" Said a harsh voice as somebody walked past Jaden...



"The ultimate Duelist is here!" He said.

As he had been heading for the same class, Syrus could only blink as the black-haired student passed them by so rudely. ...how brash he is...

Groaning, she felt like life was trying to pull her back to her Duel Monster addiction. Not only there was another duelist in school, but this one wasn't afraid to announce it.

"................duelist?!" He grinned, jumping infront of the young man. "Ha, another one! This school ain't so bad after all! Put it there, pal!" He held out his hand. "What kind of cards do you have anyway?"
