"Ah, so this is the mind of a deranged fool who confiscate for mere cards." said the mage, who now had a physical form. It was pretty much a very dark realm. "I expected more."

Standing by her side, he simply looked around with narrowed eyes. "...hm." Right now, he was merely focused on finding the source of Kaiba's corruption (well... the recent kind, at least), and eradicating it.

"Being a fellow Number card, I would have to search to one's deep goal and use it to my advantage in order to control you." she mused, rubbing her chin. It seems she actually enjoys the thought.

"...you try that, and you know the consequences." he spoke.

Gripping her staff, she tried not to quaver. "I am only saying that we must search for such thoughts in order to find the Number." Suddenly, a massive cloud flew over them...showing a image of something familiar to Yami. His duel with Kaiba...his very first duel with him, to be exact.

Looking up at that image, his eyes narrowed. "...it shouldn't be too hard to find those thoughts." he mused; having just the idea of what Kaiba's 'true goal' would still seem to be.

"Hmm..." Easily walking ahead, past the flowing clouds, they would walk by many clouds, showing memories of Kaiba. Even some when he was a kid, while enduring the cruelty of his step-father. There were also memories that didn't seem logical. Like Kaiba standing on Yugi's fallen body, holding up the Egyptian God Cards, and laughing manically. Or Joey bowing before him, in a dog suit, admitting that he is a horrible duelist and Kaiba was right about him. Or everyone worshiping him, saying that he was right that all that magic stuff wasn't real.

"...behold, the ego of Seto Kaiba." he remarked dryly as he walked alongside her. "If it were a weapon, it would prove a mighty force to be reckoned with."

"Ohhh, a red cloud." she mused, smirking, as they passed that one by. "This one is his fears." Yes, this one displayed when Kaiba confronted Pegasus, and lost. When being trapped in a soul card, he felt so weak and helpless. Magic was something he could not understand or control. He feared it so, that he tried, with all his might, to not believe it, in order to make it go away. "My, the Number even got suppressed memories. Those are the black clouds." And this was before Yugi faced Kaiba in Death-T. He was eviler, and even used others to do his dirty work, when these days, he refused to rely on others. He even was aware of Yugi's other side, when these days, he says it was just a little facade Yugi likes to do.

Probably as a result of the mind crush he had delivered onto him after the destruction of the fourth Blue-Eyes, and before Duelist Kingdom. He remained silent as he observed the various memories.

Down ahead in the darkness, they would see lightening smashing down on the unseen floor. "Number 45..." she said, spotting the source of the lightening.

Yami's eyes narrowed as he observed the Number rampaging down below them. "...any suggestions on how to quell this beast?"

"...no...but maybe your answer lies below him." she said, pointing at the figure held in electricity. And under the large beast was indeed Seto Kaiba, bound by chains of lightening.

"...Kaiba..." Gritting his teeth, he shook his head.

Still drawing electricity to it, the beast glanced down at the two. "Yugi Moto? I am surprised you have the capability of entering minds. And Number 93...I see he tamed you."[/i] Scowling, she looked away. "Yeah, well that's what happens when you try to take over some boy who has two hearts... and frightening beasts..." "I see. This poor boy also has another heart. But it is buried too deep that I have not seen it. But I do feel...not that it matters..."[/i]

Narrowing his eyes, he glared down at the electric Number. "We've come here to break the shackles you've bound Kaiba with, Number 45. You would do well to comply."

"You do not intimidate me, boy. His heart is rich in darkness; enough to keep a iron grip on him, and use such awesome power."[/i]

With a small hum, he folded his arms. "I've shattered that darkness once before, Number; I can do so again." he spoke. "Perhaps a challenge would be in order?"

"And yet, there was still plenty more left for me to bring back the rest of that darkness. If you think of challenging me to a card game is going to work, then I have something else in mind than that tedious game."[/i]
And suddenly, a heavy thunder storm raged around the realm. If they were to look closely, the flashes of the lightening would reveal silhouettes of three massive beasts.

His eyes narrowed, as he observed those silhouettes. "...I'm well-versed in the nature of games apart from Duel Monsters." he spoke, as he looked back at the Number. "Tell me what you have in mind."

"Something that involves these."[/i] Looming over the beast were a trio of great monsters that made even the Number seem as small as a teddy bear.

Looking up at these figures, his eyes momentarily widened. ...what in the... He looked back at the Number. "...what are these...?" And why do they resemble the Egyptian Gods...?

"...I noticed." he spoke with narrow eyes, before he looked back at the towering Number. "So, you intend to have them be part of this challenge?"

"Oh the rules are simple."[/i]
And the Slifer-like monster harnessed energy in its throat.
"You die."
And unleashed a thundering blast right for Yami and the Number mage.

Momentarily, his eyes widened... "...you coward!!!" Just barely did he manage to grab hold of Chrono Mage Girl before leaping away from the blast; eyes swiftly narrowing in rage as he glared at the Number and those twisted amalgations of the Egyptian Gods. "You dare exploit my trust like this?! You will pay the price for your insolence, wretched beast!" Briefly did the Millennium Puzzle shine, before he shot the mage a glance. "What are you waiting for?! Retaliate!" It seemed like without his other half, he was... less than forgiving.

"He's too strong! The darkness from this boy is too great of a fuel source." she cried, running dearly from the beam that was cutting the black floor. "But I seem to have got some message, but first..." With a wave of her staff, she brought out something from Yugi's deck....the Egyptian Gods.

"...very well!" As he glared back at the Number... ...a massive triad of monsters suddenly shot out from the deck; all of them glaring at the twisted mockeries of them... @slifer@@obelisk@@ra@ ...and all of them looking ready to decimate their foes.

While their twisted counterparts stood ready, about to strike. Looking at her staff, "I seemed to have gotten a message. This is a game, and the riddle...is strange. Why does Kaiba love the Blue-Eyes White Dragon?"

"...why he loves... the Blue-Eyes...?" Yami's eyes narrowed, as he racked his mind for an answer... ...why... why, indeed? The lengths he went to in order to obtain the fourth copy of the Dragon... it bordered on obsessive. Either there would be a sickness of the mind to explain it away... or... @slifer@ With a fell roar, the towering, serpentine dragon glared daggers at the red, fiery mockery of itself; eyes shining with rage of insolence. @obelisk@ Firm and stout stood Obelisk; eyes almost narrowing as it observed the wicked fiend that seemed to attempt, yet fail, at representing his true splendor. @ra@ As a piercing shriek escaped the final dragon, it simply glared at the beast of thunder that accompanied the other two, with a small scoff of indignant contempt; as if thinking that no challenge could be drawn from these phantom beasts.
