@rafael@
He nodded. "...truthfully... I am grateful for the concept of this deck. As if it were made for me..." He shook his head. "...but I digress. Your deck seems curious as well."

"It is. Though fer some reason, it doesn't seem complete...like it'll get stronger in the future...ah well. Whatever the case, this is just fine with me." He smirked and drew. Since the card he set on top of his deck was Sword of Sparkles, he drew that. "I set a card face down and play Card of Sanctity. You know the drill." "Since I control no monsters, and I have more than two X-Saber monsters in the grave, I can special summon XX-Saber Gardestrike!" An armored warrior appeared on the field. "My face down card was Sword of Sparkles. I'll equip it to Gardestrike." The large blade appeared in his hands. "Then I normal summon XX-Saber Boggart Knight!" "When Boggart Knight is summoned, I can special summon another X-Saber monster at level 4 or lower..." He put down another card next to the knight. And a beast warrior appeared, snarling out.

"You know me." He smirked. "I never hold back in battle, even against a mate of mine!" He pointed out. "Gardestrike attacks yer Darius!" The knight ran out and swung his new blade out at the horse gladiator.

"That's not the worst of it. When an X-Saber is equipped with the Sword of Sparkles, and it destroys a monster in battle, I can target a card you control and destroy it!" Gardestrike held the blade up, as a bright light shone from it, engulfing the other gladiator beast.

And Gyzarus was annihilated as well.

"...no...!" His eyes widened, before they narrowed in a fierce glare. Even against a comrade, destroying two of his monsters put him on edge.

@rafael@ Narrowing his eyes as a trap was sent to the grave, he drew a card. [dice=5] "...I first play Gladiator's Return, to send my Darius, Gyzarus, and even the Gladiator Beast Battle Gladius back from the graveyard into their decks." Rafael uttered, as he played that card. "Then, I am allowed to draw again." And so he did. [dice=5] Nodding, he played a new card. "Now I summon Gladiator Beast Hoplomus in Defense Mode." @rafael@ "I will equip him with the Gladiator Beast's Battle Manica..." As he said that, a manica was wrapped around the rhinoceros' arm. The rhinoceros looked up at Gardestrike incoming...
...and in the very instant Gardestrike would have struck Hoplomus, he raised the manica he wore, and the sword bounced harmlessly against it.
@rafael@
"Sad to say, but when equipped with the Battle Manica, my monster cannot be destroyed by battle."

@rafael@ "Don't forget; since Hoplomus was in a battle, I tag him out..." Rafael spoke, as the rhinoceros leapt back... "...for Gladiator Beast Spartacus." "His ability allows me to pick one Gladiator Beast Equip Spell from my deck and put it in my hand; and I choose the Battle Gladius." And he took it in. "Now, I draw." [dice=5] Seeing that monster, he nodded. "...I summon forth Gladiator Beast Dimacari once more..." As he spoke, he nodded. "...and I send Spartacus and Dimacari straight to the deck, for another Contact Fusion." As the two monsters leapt back, another vortex opened up, with a towering beast emerging from it. @rafael@ "This is... Gladiator Beast Gaiodiaz." @rafael@ "I will equip Gaiodiaz with the Battle Gladius... and then, I activate the trap Horn of the Phantom Beast; increasing his ATK by another 800. That gives him a total raise of 1100 ATK." Gaiodiaz: 3700 ATK@rafael@ "Now... attack his Gardestrike, Gaiodiaz." With a roar, Gaiodiaz rushed at the XX-Saber monster, and swung his blade directly at him.[rand=8858152702120291699912735515046495898509794329763123452170144253]

With that, Gaiodiaz unleashed a roar that forced the very earth beneath them to crack.

He nodded. "...I'm grateful for the Guardians sticking by me for so long... but I am glad that I can keep them out of harm's reach now... thanks to these Gladiator Beasts..."
He glanced to the side as he hummed a slight touch. ...you won't think less of me... will you...?
As he thought that, though Valon wouldn't see it...
@eatos@
...a certain Guardian simply smiled at Rafael to answer him, before fading away for the moment.
@rafael@
He couldn't help but smile as well, before looking back at his new deck.

He slowly got up, grunting. "Glad yer satisfied..." Indeed he didn't see it. "But I saw you were pent up when I took out yer beasts...I know you got a creed to keep em safe, but it's gonna be hard in a tournament if yer still up for it." He took the disk off. "The mind set of most players is to destroy whatever monster stands between their own and your life points, and they'll do whatever it takes to make sure they succeed."
