"Wha? I..." He grunted a bit. He couldn't turn down a challenge, but he still can't see his cards...

From what she heard about Jaden's condition, the other day, and the fact that there are two guys here, "Hang on, there's two of you. Let me tag team with him."

"Fine with us," shrugged the spiky-haired boy before they walked off to lead the way.

He looked over at Alexis, a bit surprised. "You...sure you wanna, Alexis?"

"Uh, yeah..." Not really, but she didn't want Jaden to lose in a handicap. And she meant that, literally. "But I should be asking you that."

[kelik]

"I'll manage..." He said. "Somehow...I'll make somethin' up on the fly!" He smirked and walked off. "Let's go!" Jaden was good at thinking off his feet...sometimes.

Apparently, the private park had a dueling field, with some tall bleachers beside them, which were occupied by many students from Hikari High School, all dressed in their white uniforms.

"...I think you were expected by these guys." she hissed at Jaden, not liking this. It feels like a trap.

"Course..." He rubbed his head. "I didn't really expect a crowd..."

[AnT]

"Greetings, Jaden 'Judai' Yuki." a snakey voice spoke.

Which was none other than the man who was with Aster back at the mini tournament. "Ah, and the finalist. This is an unexpected treat."

"What's going on?" she frowned. "What's all this for?"

"This is more like an exam for one of my students. They seek to prove themselves to the next status by defeating the champion, Jaden Yuki, in a duel."

"Seriously? Going up a status by playing a card game as an exam? What, is your school really a Duel Monsters school?" she sarcastically asked.

"Ah, that right?" He blinked, and looked over. "Well...that might be a problem...eheh..."

"Oh I hope you consider. You of all people know that the answer lies in the heart of the cards...at least that's what the great Yugi Muto says; what we all follow."

Standing on the top of the stands, Chazz waved a large flag around; a flag of the school's logo. "I think Jaden fears the light, friends! He's too chicken to man up and see where he truly belongs; in the path of light!"

Honestly, she can't tell the difference between this Chazz, and the Chazz that once went to her school.

"...." Though the man's words distracted Jaden from Chazz's shenanigans in the background. "The answer lies in the heart..." He took out his deck and looked it over...maybe he had a point. "...I'll do it then."

"Jaden...!" she hissed, in disbelief that Jaden was going through with this because of some words from a fortune cookie this man spouted.

"And will you join, Ms. Rhodes? After all, Mr. Yuki is to be facing two duelists."

Something was defiantly wrong. She had a feeling this guy must know about Jaden's condition. Until she can prove it, "....fine."

"Excellent." Snapping to the students, in the stands, he rose his arms, "Then let the trail duel commence!!" And the students cheered.

She was so going to regret this, she thought, as she walked over to corner of the dueling field.

He had a similar feeling. But at this point he'll take anything he can...he just wants to duel again, no matter what. So he went into his corner, taking his disk out. "Game on!"

@taiyou@ Nodding, the green-haired boy drew a card, after drawing five. "Draw!!"

@taiyou@ "I summon Big Shield Gardna in defense mode," he announced, slapping a card on the plate of his Duel Disk. Before him, a long haired man appeared, protecting himself with a massive shield.

Gritting in anticipation, she wondered how she can help Jaden with his weird card blindness. They're standing far apart from each other, and the rules say that they can't speak with each other, and-

Oh there is a god. Maybe a card game god. Oh dear lord, that is just redundant. Well never mind, for she hurried over to Jaden. "Let me see your hand."

"Err...yo, Alexis?" Asked the boy, leaning in, hoping no one would notice. "...ya mind...telling me what else is in my hand?" He looked aside with an embarrassed grin, showing his hand over to the girl.


This was going to be repetitive. "*sigh* Like I said, Polymersation, Clayman, Bubbleman, Shallow Grave, Captain Gold, and Blazeman."


"Right! Gotcha!" He nodded. "Alright, my move then!" After he sorted each card out to what he wanted.
"Alright, I start out with Elemental Hero Clayman in defense mode!"



"That's it for me."

"Then I play the field spell; Catapult Zone!" Slotting in a card onto a compartment on the left corner of the plate...

....the entire park suddenly turned into a rocky warzone.

Smirking at her hand, "I summon Tin Goldfish in defense mode!" Slapping down a card, a strange car-like fish appeared on top of its own card, on the field.



"And when it's summoned, I can special summon a level 4 monster from my hand." Grinning, she showed her next card, "Raging E-"

"Hey, that wasn't fair!" He grunted out, looking over. Thankfully, Jaden can actually hear and remember card names and effects.

"Yeah, for your pal. That card effects everyone." Slotting in a spell card, "And Mystical Space Typhoon is a Quick-Play spell card, meaning once I destroy your Skill Drain, my Tin Goldfish's effect will still be in play." And a tall twister ripped through the ground, heading for the Skill Drain.

@taiyou@ "Heh. You think I'm that stupid? I activate Aura Barrier!!" And his other face-down stood up, revealing a picture of a person emitting a powerful rainbow aura.



"Aura what?"

@taiyou@ "This trap card prevents a Continuous Card, that effects the entire field, only effect my opponents."

@raizou@ "Which makes me free to use my Koa'ki Meiru Wall's special ability! By tributing it, I can negate a Spell Card's activation!" Removing said card, the stone giant exploded, unleashing a blast that blocked the typhoon.

"Oh no!!" she gasped.

"Wait, seriously?!" He grunted. This was going to be bad...

Yeah, it was going to be bad. At least her goldfish was in defense mode. "Fine. I'll set one face-down and end my turn." she grunted, miffed how her plan just halted like that.

"Say bye bye to your fishy, cuz it's going on a one-way trip through the toilet to the Graveyard!"

Roaring, the dragon unleashed a blast from its mouth, right at the fish.

"Check again. Activate trap card; Ice Barrier!"



"This trap not only stops your attack but reduces your monster to zero and you're unable to switch positions."

@taiyou@ "AW NO!!" he cried as he saw his dragon being sealed in ice.

This was going to be annoying, but... "This one." she showed him.

"Right!" And with that the clay warrior had a mask hover above his head, he grabbed it and slipped it on, shining bright!



And a knight appeared, brandishing his blade out with a smirk.

"Big Shield Garnda's goin' bye bye!" He smirked and pointed out.

And the knight drew the blade and swooped in, thrusting out.

She couldn't believe he was missing an opening...TWO openings to be exact. "Jaden!! His Alexandr-"

@taiyou@ "No go!! I summon Battle Fader!!" he shouted, slapping down the card onto his disk. "I defense mode!!"



"Hey, how did...?!" she gawked, wondering how was he able to summon during battle.

@taiyou@ "Heh. I can summon this card when my opponent makes an attack and end the Battle Phase."

A evil grin, she had. So evil...

She almost had a vile look in her face.

"Well this would suck for you. Your Skill Drain may negate our monsters on the field, but not in our hand. So, by banishing two of my Water monsters from my hand," Doing so, she slotted them into a compartment on the right corner of the disk. "I can Special Summon Tidal, Dragon Ruler of Waterfalls!!" Slapping said card on the field, a massive pillar of water exploded out of the ground, launching out a great aqua dragon into the air.



"Now normally, during my opponent's End Phase, I have to return this card back to my hand if it was summoned this way, but since that little effect is negated thanks to your Skill Drain, I wanna say;...Thanks."

@taiyou@ "Grrrr!!" Yeah, he kicked himself for that.

"Tidal, attack his Alexandrite Dragon!!!" she commanded.

Roaring, the dragon lifted the water with it. While also firing a plasma blast from its mouth, it also directed the water with the blast. The attack slammed and exploded on the weakened dragon.

@taiyou@ "AAAGH!!" he shouted, shielding himself from the blast.

"I summon Star Drawing in attack mode!!" Slapping said card on his disk, a strange star kid appeared out of its card, when a larger version of it appeared next to Gardna.



@taiyou@ "Then I banish my Alexandrite Dragon from the grave to Special Summon Black Dragon Collapserpent!!" Doing so, he slapped that card on the disk.

This summoned a black serpent dragon from the sky, which swirled down next to Battle Fader.




None of those cards are strong enough to destroy hers or Jaden's monsters. That dragon could've made a good sacrifice if he didn't Normal Summoned first. Just what was-

Suddenly, black energy swirled as a vortex, under Taiyou's monsters. "W-What's happening?!" she cried, wondering if there was a gltich.

@taiyou@ "Xyz Summoning is what's happening, for I build the Overlay Network!" he answered with a sadistic grin. A neon symbol of the number 89 appeared on his forehead. "I used Star Drawing, Black Dragon, and Gardna to Xyz Summon Number 89: Ice Sorceress!!!" Sliding three card on top of each other, he placed a black one on top of those.

Heavy snow exploded out of the vortex as a evil woman in icy drabs flew out of the vortex.




This summon, something she never seen before, stunned her so, she felt her blood run cold. "J-Jaden! Can you see this?!"1-5

He looked rather surprised at that. "Wait...what?" He hadn't seen a summon like that. "Is this part of the rules?!"

@taiyou@ "Hey the disk allowed it. Oh yeah, because I used Star Drawing for a Xyz Summon, I get to draw a card." And he did.

Whirling her ancient staff, she fired a icy wave right for the warrior.

"No way!!" Quickly, she pressed a button to activate her face-down.



"That lady is going away!!"

@taiyou@ "I don't think so! By paying a Xyz Material...!" he said, taking away his dragon card.

The icy blast headed right for a dimensional vortex, but then smashed right through it.

"WHA?!?" she cried as the larger version of her trap card was coated in ice, then shattered. "Wait!! Those monsters have the same attack points!! They'll destroy each other!!"

And the blast still headed for the Masked HERO.1-5
