It had taken some time since leaving the crypt, but now, Marik could actually see the town ahead of them. "...almost there..." His eyes narrowed somewhat as he wondered... would Bakura still be there?

He looked ahead too. "We're nearly there. I'm sure there's still quite a gathering at the town too. Finding what we're looking for may be difficult, master."

"...which is why we have to look sooner than later..." Marik noted, as he folded his arms; watching the town come closer. "...where in town did you say they found the duelist, Odion?"

"In an alley way. My assumption is whoever met with the duelist wanted to make sure they were away from the public eye."

"...makes sense..." Marik spoke. ...it would fit... hopefully, he should still be in town... "...let's hurry..."

"Yes." He lead off. They got into the busy Egyptian town, just through the bazaar. It's been some time since the accident, but there were still a few officers around the area.

Even as he kept a sharp eye out for the one he suspected would be the culprit, he couldn't help but glance around at the town around him. It wasn't often he went out from the tomb ever since his training started again, so seeing the lively town was a refreshing change of pace... ...but he wasn't going to let that distract him.

Except he would see a blanket of darkness peak around the corner.

Seeing that, his eyes widened. ...that... it must be him! "...Odion, keep looking. I'll be right back." With that, he hurried around that corner without hesitation.

He looked over. "Huh? Master?" He didn't want to leave him alone, but...

Sadly, no. It was just a homely skinny man, in a robe, and turban, sitting on a towel filled with junk. However, he was surrounded by people, who seemed to be begging to buy his stuff, no matter how useless they were.

Marik's eyes narrowed. ...not... Bakura... He blinked a touch at how the crowd was fighting to buy this merchant's wares, as he approached this peddler.

Grinning, his arms filled with coins. But something was strange about the people. They all had glassy eyes, as if they were brainwashed.

His eyes narrowed at this sight. He knew it all too well... given his influence beforehand... "...excuse me." He walked up to the peddler. "Did you do something to these people?"

"Oh? Would you like to buy something?" the man, with a Hindu accent, asked, while giving out merchandise.

"...I would rather not." Marik noted, as he looked at everyone in the crowd, before looking back at the man. "...you're no ordinary peddler..."

"Yea, seems I'm not!" he grinned, with rather odd teeth, for some are missing. "Them ads really helped me hit it. I can buy those gold teeth I always wanted!"

Marik blinked, as he narrowed his eyes more. ...since when did peddlers advertise themselves? And the customers... they look like they've been brainwashed... "...I see..." he spoke out of politeness... ...but where did that dark aura come from? From... this peddler?

More like from a card pouch by him, coated in a dark aura that only Marik could see, it seems.

Seeing that, he looked back at the peddler. "...you play Duel Monsters?" he assumed.

"Oh yes," he nodded, rapidly, frantically selling and giving. "But a bit busy." Handing out his tra---erm, merchandise to the customers, "Thank you, come again!"

He grew curious... why did that dark aura eminate from his card pouch? "...you... wouldn't mind if I looked through your deck, would you?" he inquired.

"Busy!" he shouted, finally giving the last batch of customers his sells. "Thank you, come again!" With that, his area was finally free....except with the piles of coins around him. "WOO HOO!!"

Marik found that... odd. How could a mere peddler, selling rather low-class junk, somehow sell out and earn a small fortune? There had to be something else to this... like... the dark aura from that card pouch?

Blinking at him, he held out an old rag doll. "Would you like to buy what's left over?"
For some reason, Marik would feel a sonic pulse of darkness wash over him. A hypnotic call ringing in his ears, trying to soothe his mind.

"Nh...!" Marik's eyes widened, as he clutched to his head. "...wh-what..." Even if the darkness seemed so hypnotically soothing, it also felt like a drill was piercing his mind... both the sensation of blistering pain and blissful oblivion was sweeping against him.

"It's quite an ancient little toy. A true collectors item. In a few more years, you could score a fortune." he grinned with his bad shaped teeth, as that hypnotic spell still rang.

"Ngh...!" Still trying to fight that pain, he glared at the peddler with a scowl. "...n...n-no...!" With a sudden movement, he tried smacking the doll out of the peddler's grip; barely resisting this hypnotic spell ringing in his mind.

Next he held a yellow rock. "Or how about this rock? A mighty rock, found near the Sphinx. Says to give you good luck."
