"Are you still denying your inevitable defeat?" she hotly said, arrogantly crossing her arms.

"...on the contrary!" he spoke loudly, as he held up his card. "I activate Card of Sanctity!"

With that familiar bright glow surrounding them, Yami drew his hand.

The instant he saw his hand, a small smirk actually crossed his lips. ...I think we may have won the duel, Yugi.



...that's the ticket... now we just have to beat her!



And we shall! His gaze narrowed as he held up a card. "I activate Magical Stone Excavation! I will discard two cards from my hand, to retrieve one Spell Card from my Graveyard!" As he did this, he held up the card he had retrieved. "Monster Reborn! Now, you shall experience the wrath of a student scorned... Dark Magician Girl returns to my field, in Attack Mode!"

And in a flash...

"Ahahahaha!!!" she laughed, hard. "My my....ahahaha! Her? Fool, even with her ability, 300 extra points is nothing to fear a---ahahahaha!!"

"...who said anything about 300 extra attack points?"



Indeed; for as the Number would soon notice, a fairly large aura was burning around the sorceress.



"...I should probably have mentioned that one of the cards I discarded for Magical Stone Excavation's effect... was Magician of Black Chaos." He seemed to smirk as he spoke; confident in his impending victory.



"Hm!" With a nod, she brandished her staff as she glared at her foe.

"And if you think I'll stop there, you're sorely mistaken! I equip her with Magic Formula, to increase her Attack Points by 700 more!"



As energy brimmed against her, one could feel the anger she felt towards the Xyz Monster.

"EH?!?" she gasped, seeing her power sky rocket. And this was bad, because with only 600 life points...

3300 - 2600 = 700

"I could simply attack you now, and end this duel... but no; I intend for this to be a complete victory, Chrono Mage Girl!" In that instant, he held out another spell card. "Empty Magic! As long as a Spellcaster is on my field, I may tribute two monsters to target you!"

Slowly, Dark Paladin and Black Luster Soldier were both engulfed in a white light, which they faded peacefully into.



"Now, all your effects will be negated for the duration of the turn... including the effect of only Number Monsters being able to destroy you!"



A small smirk, she made; oh so ready to dish out some delicious, karmic justice.

It was hard to tell if she was mortified, or angry. But she was stunned that that little girl was overpowering her.

"Now, Dark Magician Girl! Use the power bestowed upon you by mentors and rites of old, and vanquish Chrono Mage Girl, and her remaining life points!"



As she floated up into the air, she spun her staff rapidly whilst glaring at the time mage. "...this is for my teacher, you time-warping hussy!" With that, she fired a massive blast directly at Chrono Mage Girl.

"Oh NOW you talk?! I was beginning to think I stunned you enough to shut-AAAAGH!!!" The colossal blast of magic rammed right onto her like a truck...

...as well as the possessed robber, smashing them through a lobby desk to pieces. The Number mage shattered to data dust, afterwards.

MONSTER KILL!!

The robber's cards scattered on the floor, but time still stood still. However, a black card stood out, in the center of the room. Chrono Mage Girl's card, to be exact.

Breathing a touch whilst taking in her victory, she just gawked for a moment...

...before turning to look at Yugi with the biggest grin. "That was awesome! We gotta do more stuff like that in the future!"



A light chuckle escaped his lips. "Possibly. For now, we may rest..."



With a small nod, the Dark Magician Girl faded, along with the rest of the cards.



"...and that takes care of that..." he mused, as he slowly walked over to the card in the middle of the room.



...do you think she's really out of it?



...only one way to find out... With a bit of contemplation...

...he eventually crouched down to pick up the Number card.

And he would feel a deep pain on his head. The number 93 shined right on his forehead.

"AGH!" With a wince, Yami stepped back as he clutched his forehead.



Partner! In a moment of panic...



...the two of them suddenly swapped places.



The instant that headache faded, his eyes widened in genuine terror. ...Yugi, NO!



Indeed; now Yugi was the one suffering from severe pain, whilst the number ominously shone from his forehead. "Nnh... aagh...!"

And the mage's voice, in his head, laughed. "Did you think I would be discouraged? No! You only proved to be the perfect host. Now let the Number consume you."

"Ngh... no...!" Grasping his head, Yugi sank to his knees.



With a scowl, Yami glared at the being that was trying to overtake his partner. ...accursed witch! To his dismay, though, without Yugi's body, he couldn't exactly counteract the witch...

...but something else would suddenly prove an obstacle to the Number, within the recesses of Yugi's mind... or to be exact, the Pharaoh's chambers within the puzzle dangling from Yugi's neck.

"Huh?!" And suddenly, she would be standing in the darkness, despite the fact she can see herself. "What just happened?"

And suddenly, lightening struck, scaring her.

A massive roar slammed her ears, and clouds grew, high above. Lurking out of them...




"WHA?!?!" she gasped, falling on her rear. But suddenly, the 'ground' rattled so hard, she bounced. For a massive foot slammed on it, belonging to a giant beast that glared down at her.




Never before had she felt as small as a mouse compared to this...Goliath.

Gasping, the black realm because red, as a gold being shined in the middle, closing in on her.




"....WHAT ARE THESE?!?!"

...you know, for being from the future, you sure seem clueless."



"You should know the very names of these beasts as they approach..."



"...unless, of course, the true learner in this timeline is you."

Voices... all of them similar, yet different in the same way. Three smaller figures approached the mage, as the three massive beings closed in on her.



"...they're the Egyptian Gods; renowned as the strongest Duel Monsters to ever grace the world."



"Individually, they are Obelisk the Tormentor, Slifer the Sky Dragon, and the Winged Dragon of Ra... but together, they are indestructible."



"So, where is the elite attitude we saw cackling at our misfortune? Go on, measly Number; see how laughter carries you through the devastation of the Egyptian Gods... and sink into despair and madness of defeat."

The three monsters, still advancing towards the Chrono Mage Girl, remained silent; though their very presence spoke volumes louder than any scripture could hope to encompass, with the Number being their absolute target at this very moment.

The massive intimidation of these beast made it impossible for her to keep up her strong bravado, and left her quivering like a little girl. "I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THESE THINGS!! I'M JUST AN ALIEN TRADING CARD FROM ANOTHER PLANET!! I'M SORRY!! YOU WIN!! I YIELD!!"

"Hm... such cowardice, in the face of true power. There's really only one way to deal with such insubordination..."

As he spoke, the gods seemed ready to strike her down; their mere presence seemingly enough to kill anyone in proximity of them.



"...but we can let it slide... if you free the people you froze in time, and promise to never act up like this again, we'll be willing to overlook this."



"And so the choice falls to you... will you choose destruction, or redemption?"

"Redemptionredemptionredemtpion!!" she cried, wailing her arms in fright.


And soon, Yugi would return back to reality, and even time returned to normal.

Especially the robber's partner who was about to cheer for him. "Yeah, hurry up and kick his ass so we can get the hell----huh?!" Blinking, he found him lying on smashed desk. "What just-"

"FREEZE!!!" And the cops came in, aiming their weapons on everyone, as they were before they were froze. Some blinked, when they spotted Yugi and his friends, as well as one of the robbers, out-cold and on a smashed desk.

Quickly, Yugi pocketed the card before the cops could see it.



"...Yugi?!" As time had returned to normal, Tristan could only gawk at the sight before him; having gone from Yugi about to duel one of the robbers, to having one of them smashed against a desk and the other just as confused as the rest of them.



"Oh, thank goodness, Yugi, you're alright!" Rebecca uttered as she looked at Yugi in concern.

"What... just... happened...?!" She blinked.

[AnT]

"...Yugi Muto?!" One of the cops spoke, studying the area. The famous card champion was here, so many cards scattered on the floor, and one of the crooks down on a smashed table. Yea...best not to question it. "I don't know how you did it, but next time, leave the crime-fighting to the police. I don't want you making a habit out of it."

As that happened, the police forced the confused robber on a pillar, snapping cuffs on his wrists.

With a bit of a nervous chuckle, Yugi simply nodded to the officer. "...apologies, officer. I'll keep myself in line from now on..."



...don't make promises you don't intend to keep.



I'm going to try, at least...



"...wow..." Tristan could only gawk, still in disbelief that Yugi had actually taken out one of the crooks on his own.



"...Yugi!!!" And at that point, Rebecca rushed up to him and grabbed him in a tight hug. "That was so brave of you! Reckless, true... dangerous, beyond a doubt... but really brave!"



"...uh..." Yugi was just sort of stunned; surprised that Rebecca was hugging him this tightly for it. "...don't... mention it?"

"Yugi, w-what just happened?! One moment, you were getting ready to Duel and the next... the guy is...." She groaned. "Did somebody flicked a Timeskip switch...?"

[Alien-Child]

"Aw... we missed the action?" Joey moaned.


"Missed what?" Melody blinked, looking around. Unaware of time stopping, though it was weird now the cops are moving.

And they would see a helicopter, with the Kaiba logo on it, setting on a large grassy island, outside.

".....what is he doing here...?" She asked, completly confused.

"...he couldn't have seen what happened, could he?" Tristan blinked.



They looked over as well; blinking a touch.
