Other potential suitors to Jack, her own bad luck
Appearance:
History:
From when she was little, Carly always enjoyed watching others succeed, which was a major drive for her taking a job as a reporter; though this led to some conflict when it came to dealing with Angela Raines, a rivalling reporter.
She happened to be one of the reporters present during the Fortune Cup, and after failing to get any answers from both Yusei and Goodwin, including several failed attempts to get a scoop out of the new King, she turned her attention towards Jack Atlas, who had been hospitalized, in order to get her scoop. As she managed to sneak in to get Jack out, they bumped into Trudge, who had become a drone of the Dark Signers. As Jack's arm was broken, Carly acted as his hand so that they could defeat the corrupted police officer, before Carly brought Jack to her home.
Even after Jack himself claimed that he'd stay with Carly indefinitely, she couldn't really find it in her heart to question him about his affiliation with Satellite; and after a date where the two of them reflected more on themselves, she vowed to never write anything that would hurt others. After this, Jack and Carly were taken to Satellite so that Jack could deal with the Dark Signers, where Carly was told that staying with Jack would be too dangerous whilst the Dark Signers were still at large.
Not willing to let go of Jack so easily, Carly became determined to uncover more information about the Dark Signers in order to aid him. She eventually discovered some deep information regarding Rex Goodwin, but she was found out by Sayer, leader of the Arcadia Movement. In a brutal duel, Carly lost not only the battle, but also her own life as she was tossed out of a window.
However, she was brought back from the brink in the worst possible way; a hummingbird mark planted itself on her, in order to revive her as a Dark Signer. She took this second chance at life to take revenge on Sayer by absolutely annihilating him with her Earthbound Immortal Aslla piscu. She momentarily reverts to her old personality once she realizes what she's done, and cried out for Jack as she was taken away by the other Dark Signers.
After this, by reading her own fortune with the card Enlightenment, she sees a mighty premonition that compels her to battle with Jack. As she gradually diminished his life points, she explained her reason for becoming a Dark Signer as she had realized it via her previous enlightenment, before trapping Jack in an illusion where he loses, Carly turns him into a Dark Signer, and the two of them literally turn the world into a hellish nightmare where they'd rule as a Dark King and Dark Queen...
...until Jack thankfully broke out of the illusion. Though he manages to break her free from her twisted persona, Aslla piscu swiftly possessed Carly to continue the duel, which was brought to its end when Jack used the power of the Majestic Red Dragon, and Carly broke free long enough to let herself lose the duel. This claimed her life once more, though she managed to confess her true feelings for Jack before her body faded away.
Thankfully, Carly was brought back from the dead after the defeat of Goodwin and the King of the Netherworld; her memories of being a Dark Signer (except her confession to Jack) completely wiped from her mind. From there, she's continued her work as a reporter, whilst remaining (almost) blissfully unaware of the horrible things she did; reacting only with flustered and befuddled expressions when they are brought up.
