Mountain Fortress: Rising Shadows

@nemain@ "It's not very far now." She kept leading along to a not so secret main base forest path. "We've taken over an abandon fortress as our main headquarters for now. It seems it slipped under Nightshroud's and Ha Des' sights. Lucky for us..."

Yubel simply hummed, as she looked around her with a narrowed gaze.

@nemain@ "Here we are." She stopped, as she looked up at a large structure near the mountain...



@nemain@ "Oooh, looks like they're about done on the renovations...feels more like home now." She smiled and lead Yubel in. "This way."

She simply nodded, before following her inside.

@nemain@ She lead inside, and quite a few dark looking soldiers started working around the castle, trying to finish renovations and such. As you'd expect of a group called the "Shadow Knights", a lot of the soldiers were covered in dark armor. But then there's some people who stood out as well. Dogs in black armor, a monkey with a lance, to name a few. But a few knights rolled a large cage through...



Containing a large, metal scaled dragon, growling a bit softly.

Observing these people, Yubel simply hummed, before glancing ahead.

@nemain@ After asking around, she looked back. "He's in our meeting room with our tactician." She lead down another hall to some double doors, which opened slowly.

"...it seems our scouts spotted some ninja like beings dashing across the...?" It seems they walked in during a meeting.

"Hm...oh? Nemain's back, good..." Said a deep voice...

There were two figures in the room...



@macha@ A young girl standing by, who gave a brief glance at the two.



@dark@ And an armored fellow sat on a couch in this exact same pose. "Oh, it seems she's brought a guest too. How'd things go?"

@nemain@ "Well, milord." She stopped and bowed her head a bit. "This is Yubel, a new ally of ours. She was working for Ha Des. Yubel, this man is known as the Dark Dictator. He's been our current leader now that our lord Phantom Blaster is recovering."

@dark@ "It's good to meet you." He smiled. "Please, take a seat. Make yourself at home, madam..."

"...thank you." With a small nod, Yubel took a seat, as she looked at the two figures with a neutral expression.

@macha@ "..." She simply eyed Yubel silently.

@dark@ "Macha, if you don't mind. Could you serve our guest a drink?"

@macha@ "...I am no maid." She turned away with a humph.

@dark@ He laughed. "Nemain?"

@nemain@ "With pleasure, sir." She bowed and walked off.

@dark@ "It's nice to know I can rely on someone..." He looked at Yubel. "So, miss Yubel, I trust your presence means our offer was accepted?"

She nodded. "Ha Des has agreed to this alliance between your forces and his." she spoke.

[kelik]

@dark@ "Good good." He nodded. "We have been pondering our options since we woke up, and we thought Ha Des would be the most...appropriate choice."

@macha@ "With some help from me, thank you very much, milord..."

@dark@ "Hm, yes, of course." He smiled, and held his hand out. "This young lady here is Macha, the tactician of our little army. She may be young, but her brilliance has brought us several victories in the past."

@macha@ She nodded. "...charmed." She didn't sound very pleased.

"...hm." With a small nod, Yubel simply folded her arms. "I assure you, this alliance will surely benefit both of our factions."

@dark@ "Excellent."

@nemain@ She came back with a tray and a drink. "Here you are." She put it on the table. "Beyond our alliance, she's told me of another group she would like to enlist."

@dark@ "You don't say?" He blinked and took another sip.

Nodding, she took the glass before drinking a touch from it. "I don't suppose you've heard about Demise and Ruin?" she began.

@dark@ "Demise and...Ruin?" He blinked.

@macha@ "I do believe they hail from another empire, sir. Though, there's very little information on that. Our scouts had difficulty reaching that far."

@dark@ "I see..." He looked back at Yubel.

"They are two monarchs who have trained themselves to possess the power of the Envoys... or at least as close as they could hope to achieve." Yubel mused. "There's no chance of recruiting either of the Envoys to our cause, but at the very least they won't be under the thumb of Nightshroud either... so the second-best would serve to work out well enough for us, I'd say."

@dark@ He smiled at that. "Power that rivals the Envoys...how interesting."

@macha@ "Hm, indeed." She looked through a file in her hand. "Nightshroud's grip on the Spirit World is very strong. He has two Sacred Beasts, after all. Of course, I'm sure he has more surprises in his sleeve as well. Until our lord reawakens, we'll need more leverage. This would be just what we need to cover that base."

@dark@ "Agreed. So, I assume Ha Des is making plans to meet with them?"

@nemain@ "No, actually."

@dark@ "Hm?"

"...I intended to meet with the two of them." Yubel spoke. "Ha Des is of the paranoid sort; he likes to think that he's in complete control of the situation. Therefore, when we've gotten Demise and Ruin to join us, I have to make it seem like the two of them decided to join Ha Des of their own free will."

@dark@ "Aaah, I see now." He chuckled. "Well, I suppose that's a good plan. It may take a bit of convincing as well."

@nemain@ "Hm, they haven't decided what to do during this war, have they?" She looked at Yubel. "I mean, will they even consider our offer?"

"...if they don't..." Yubel hummed, as she looked down at her hand. "...then I'll have to convince them otherwise..."

@dark@ He nodded. "I'd like to meet them myself..."

@macha@ She cleared he voice. "Sir...waltzing toward their kingdom with an army may not be the best of ideas. They could deem us as hostiles."

@dark@ "Then a very small party may be a good idea. We don't want to alarm them after all...maybe we should send a scout as well." He thought.

"...I suppose that would be smart." she mused.

[kelik]

@dark@ He nodded. "Nemain, why don't you fetch Rugos to scout ahead?"

@nemain@ "Certainly." She bowed and walked off.

@dark@ He put his glass down. "In the meantime, I think I'll check on the lord...would you like to join me?" He asked Yubel.

She hummed, before nodding. "...I suppose." she mused.

@dark@ He nodded and stood up, leading off. "This way then."

@macha@ She just watched him, and sighed. "I suppose I'll do some more research then." She walked past Yubel.

Watching her walk off, she followed Dark without a word.

@dark@ He lead deeper inside the fortress, and inside a part of the mountain other knights were digging through. Until they got to a large room...



And the massive dragon Yubel saw in Nemain's vision was in the middle, floating in a giant black orb. He looked like he was asleep...and injured.

@dark@ "Seems we still have a ways to go."

Yubel remained silent as she gazed up at this figure.

@dark@ "Ever since we woke up, he's been like this. It's a bit of a shame, really. It probably wouldn't be so bad, if my right hand man didn't defect as well..."

"...I see..." Yubel hummed with a small nod.
